Meeting started at 8:15 via Zoom, 7 members grew to 8.
Treasury: $1337 Hosting and domain fees paid by donation.
Chapter renewal: USHPA being annoying in the way they have been the last few years. Want us to pay insurance to protect work parties. So we decided we are no longer a USHPA chapter. Should hear about 501.3.c in a couple weeks.
USHPA news: monthly board meetings. Steve Pearson is president. Nearly 5 hour long meetings. One main aim is making it easier for instructors.
Website: work has sort of plateaued, but Mike will take requests.
(side note: the second syllable of “plateau” has nearly every vowel except the one it sounds like)
T-shirts: haven’t been designed yet. Other merchandise has been looked at by Fred, will put out something.
Road Report: Impassible. Entry slope is all ice. May put out salt drum.
General Discussion: what about other sites? Now that the club status is squared away, it’s time to look at sites. Wayne thinks overlook at Woodstock has the best LZ possibilities. A scouting party found the old cliff launch but not the old ramp launch.
Bear mountain has one LZ behind the Inn, needs a little work at launch and some wind to clear the trees because can’t really run it off. Mt Beacon has a possible LZ owned by Columbia University. Try to restart one site each year?
