Ellenville Sites
The Hudson Valley Free Flyers chapter is developing sites within an hour’s drive of the Hudson valley. For historical reasons the Ellenville sites are more complex, so there is a map to disambiguate them.
There are several adjacent sites on Ellenville Mountain. On the map below the HVFF manages the North Knob (shown in blue with the associated LZ/practice hill) and the road launch shown in purple. The Ellenville Flight Park (shown in yellow) is a separate entity.
Many pilots will fly all sites, though for management reasons we ask that you pair the launches and LZs as shown in the map since they require separate waivers and memberships. But if circumstances require do not hesitate to land in the safest field regardless of membership.

Though the HVFF does not manage Ellenville Flight Park, due to high pilot crossover use information is provided here as a convenience; but can not be expected to be kept up to date. Check with the Tony Covelli at the flight park to confirm vital information.
The practice hill can be used both to practice launching and as an LZ for the ramp launches. Since these usages have different requirements it is listed here both as a stand alone practice hill and as the LZ for the Ramp Launch.
The road launch was constructed for our use by the New York Department of Transportation. It is used when the final roads up to the other launches are impassible due to snow or ice.
