HVFF Meeting Minutes, June 29, 2019
HVFF Meeting June 29 at the White Wolf Meeting opened 6:39 with 7 members Treasury Treasury: treasury stands at $1158.5, including $227 Jimmy has collected for the road campaign; he will post a call for donations (need over $400 for a load of read material). Mower fix will cost $918.31, so our balance is right at the line now. Mike is questioning whether membership should have a rotating date or go to start of the year. We decided to go annually rather than rotating. Those who join after September just get rolled over to next year. Old Business Road work party July 20 1 truckload of material (plus vegetation) Tim Curry scheduled a work party for Greg’s on July 6 New Business July 4 Parade float: not much enthusiasm for it, so probably won’t happen this year, but may use Wayne’s truck in the future. 2019 Parachute Party
Hello Fellow Aviators! Well last nights Parachute Party was a informative blast for all that attended. Many new faces and many I haven’t seen in quite a while, it was nice catching up with everyone there:) Everyone brought food and beverages so there was plenty to eat but the nights best disk when to “Jimmy D’s Aviators Ribs” Yeh… That hands down was the Pilot’s favorite… It seemed Jimmy couldn’t get them off the BQ fast enough to feed the crowd… Jimmy we’ll need you to post the receipt on the New website “I think it will increase our web hits by 25%”:) The evening started off with David Hopkins giving us his first hand account of his intrepid journey across the New England landscape from Ellenville to Salsbury Beach NH… Thought this saga is now Ellenville folklore and I must of heard he tell it 12 times by now…
Today Could Work
Originally posted by Lindsey Chew on Yahoo Groups, June 4, 2019. Today could present nice flying though a bit lefterly with wwnw winds about 10-13mph at 2K. The NAM12 is the most optimistic with excellent Buoyancy to Shear Ratio and west winds. Top of Usable lift reaches 7-8K over the mountain 5-6K over the valley which is not bad! Days like these can produce the best XC opportunities as our XC routes are all due east. If you want to try crossing the river then today might be a good day for the attempt. For HG the route is to work your way up to the Prison and then get as HIGH as POSSIBLE. How High is HIGH enough you might ask, my answer would higher than you are now! The mountain is really fat back there so get as high as you can. 8K is golden, 6K is absolute…
HVFF Meeting Minutes, June 1, 2019
Meeting started at 6:19, a dozen members including Jerome who is exploring Hang Gliding. Treasurer – $947, none of it earmarked for anything Jimmy topics Suggestion to take old master list, compare to current members, send envelope and membership form. Online signup included. May increase membership. Motion accepted unanimously. Call missing members during meetings, make them feel included. (hospitalized, moved away, etc.) It would be fun. Work Parties: Put another load of material up there, there current load up there will probably be depleted by filling potholes. Vegetation also growing on launch, need to get up there soon. So two work parties: one for vegetation (soon), one for filling potholes. May be combined. Everyone bring tools when flying, with rain will need it. Road work party July 20th. Parachute party June 8. Maybe combine with vegetation clearing work party. Governance Vote: Paul presented the ramifications of the new board structure…

Hudson Valley Free Flyers Meeting March 23, White Wolf Treasury – $ 1083.06 Old Business: same as this meeting, but progress made. Awards categories selected by Paul Voight and Greg Black: HG XC, PG XC, kingpost HG XC, Rookie of the Year, Exceptional Service Golden Hammer dropped. Club’s full of snowflakes. USHPA meeting review (Paul Voight) in Golden Co, supposed to be last of the old 25 member meetings, But due to technicality having to do with incomplete facts listed on ballot, the vote must be completely redone. 6000 people did not vote, lost by 400 votes. So we have a second chance to defeat it. Split on voting East/West More regions voted against, but not the voters. Long discussion of Paul’s problems with the new plan for the USHPA board. New Events 2019 Parachute party April 27 at Greg’s Shop. This will be merged with the meeting. Pot-luck as…
