In-person meeting at the Ellenville Country Club Grill (Golf Course) Meeting began at 7:36 with 8 members in attendance. Treasurer’s Report: $2085 in the bank, with only lawnmowing expenses in the immediate future. 64 members, roughly a half dozen new. Launch Purchase: Wayne will be meeting with Tony on Tuesday to iron out the final details. We are looking at $650K paid over 10 years, with possible help of the Free Flight Foundation. If they do their normal support of 50% matching funds it would be the largest outlay in their history, so we shouldn’t expect that level. They also normally purchase easements, making this another groundbreaking effort for them. As this begins to happen we will need to take up the responsibility of policing the site ourselves, so there is lots of discussion to be had about this transfer. (Officer’s meeting on Wednesday to discuss via Zoom). Club Road Trip: Hyner for…

Now need to talk about how to use it. Website apparently had a lot to do with the approval, it helps that it looks so professional. Dues will be considered a donation. USHPA Updates: Only new thing is reinstating the safe pilot awards, but instead of nice pins will have less nice pins but a jacket as well. Problems down in Tennessee Tree Toppers with commercial school nearby landing in same LZ. But USHPA is solvent. The mag wants more hang gliding stories, submissions are rather lopsided right now. Steve Pearson is president. Nearly 5 hour long meetings. One main aim is making it easier for instructors. Website: work has sort of plateaued, but Mike will take requests. Club Status: Ready to file for HVFF.  After legal consultation some changes are due on website to make it clearly nonprofit.  We can use membership donations (not dues) but can not have any clearly “paid for” benefits – should be general benefits.  We are filing as an educational non-profit which lets the club focus on flying supported activities.  It is vital to keep on educator on board (Keep buying Greg drinks, folks!). Website: Use Amazon smile for nonprofit merchandise. Wind talker may be accessible only to club members.  We CAN charge for it.  Looking into a website widget with log-in accounts that can expire with membership. Education: All educational content must be public under…

HVFF Meeting June 29 at the White Wolf Meeting opened 6:39 with 7 members Treasury Treasury: treasury stands at $1158.5, including $227 Jimmy has collected for the road campaign; he will post a call for donations (need over $400 for a load of read material). Mower fix will cost $918.31, so our balance is right at the line now. Mike is questioning whether membership should have a rotating date or go to start of the year. We decided to go annually rather than rotating. Those who join after September just get rolled over to next year. Old Business Road work party July 20 1 truckload of material (plus vegetation) Tim Curry scheduled a work party for Greg’s on July 6 New Business July 4 Parade float: not much enthusiasm for it, so probably won’t happen this year, but may use Wayne’s truck in the future.
