HVFF Meeting June 29 at the White Wolf
Meeting opened 6:39 with 7 members
Treasury
Treasury: treasury stands at $1158.5, including $227 Jimmy has collected for the road campaign; he will post a call for donations (need over $400 for a load of read material). Mower fix will cost $918.31, so our balance is right at the line now.
Mike is questioning whether membership should have a rotating date or go to start of the year. We decided to go annually rather than rotating. Those who join after September just get rolled over to next year.
Old Business
- Road work party July 20 1 truckload of material (plus vegetation)
- Tim Curry scheduled a work party for Greg’s on July 6
New Business
July 4 Parade float: not much enthusiasm for it, so probably won’t happen this year, but may use Wayne’s truck in the future.
USHPA governance – soliciting nominations for the new 9 person board. Region will no longer matter. 2020 will still have a few extras, 2021 will be settling down to intended board. Will be 5 regions with representatives selected AFTER voting.
Wayne is working on replacing the wind talker with a weather station. Can hopefully use the same cell phone plan we already have (upgrade to unlimited data no voice?). Will be able to access by web page.
Logo created by Jane is being adapted by Mike to go on website.
Website will Launch July 4 after membership list is imported. Mike walked us through it.
Newsletter – WordPress blog with reports from training hill, Tony, Greg, etc. Have each write a quick article. Nominate several editors, rotating each month, picking their content. Push out the month’s collection of articles each month, automatically archived as blog.
First Aid coordinated by Paul can be anytime. Will be a weekday evening to accommodate instructors.
HVFF incorporation will be filed soon. Should be in place by July meeting.
Hyner did a work party; main campground for campers has a new driveway, trails have been cut into wooded section to accommodate tend or truck camping.
