Jimmy topics
- Suggestion to take old master list, compare to current members, send envelope and membership form. Online signup included. May increase membership. Motion accepted unanimously.
- Call missing members during meetings, make them feel included. (hospitalized, moved away, etc.) It would be fun.
- Work Parties: Put another load of material up there, there current load up there will probably be depleted by filling potholes. Vegetation also growing on launch, need to get up there soon. So two work parties: one for vegetation (soon), one for filling potholes. May be combined. Everyone bring tools when flying, with rain will need it. Road work party July 20th.
Parachute party June 8. Maybe combine with vegetation clearing work party.
Governance Vote: Paul presented the ramifications of the new board structure which was passed by 84 votes. The reason it was extended was because 252 people didn’t get the chance to vote last time. HG voted against, PG for it. Our region was best represented and Paul is still our regional director. There is currently overlap between the old and new board, so we now have 19 regional directors for the next 7 months. New votes will be national, not regional. Then some complicated black magic (diversity algorithm) will ensure there is still balanced regional representation, and wing type balance, and age balance, and sex balance.
Parachute party next weekend, Greg not here so will post later Starts around 5 pm?
Website: Mike Strother – trying to get the new forum to will work like yahoo site. New website has both a blogging format and a discussion format. Mike is worried the new site will lose alert capability, still working on it. Officers can play around with the discussion area to beta test it.
Jane had two logo concepts, a round one that was very popular, a square one which was more comprehensive. Will be scanned and posted to the website.
Hyner – after demands from one of the landowners for greatly increased camping fees, the club has moved to the field across the river purchased by the Nature Conservancy for just this purpose, and managed by Dept of Forestry. Some work will be done to make it more habitable.
Wind talker – device has a problem, there’s only one person we know who can service it. Lytech.
Volunteers for Mowing: Paul Blood will be travelling from Father’s day (June 16) through he July 4 weekend. Need volunteers to mow the field – about one a week or three mowings.
