Quote from dave360up on September 20, 2020, 8:02 amThe NE is the easiest side. Good launch, good LZ's for today's wind direction. I'll attach site guide and images. You have to be H3/P3, read the site guide, and join the club ($30). Just show up. If everyone is already in the air when you get there, you can first and join after, but per the RRG rules you have to read the site guide (the relevant Uts NE parts) before you fly.
The turnaround is pretty quick so it's easy enough to meet on top and run a vehicle down. Alternatively, a good LZ meeting place is on the rail-trail (labeled as Catskill Scenic Trail on Google Earth) between the two Eklund LZ's (see the attached image). 42.413970, -74.577808I like to land in the Eklund LZ's because I can work low lift off the end of the spine. Some prefer to land in the Murphy LZ's because they are huge but you have to leave the spine sooner. The satellite shows broken high clouds over much of upstate now but these are supposed to be gradually clearing. I'll probably be there by late morning.434 three two seven 9156 if you've got questions.
