There will be a mini work party on Sunday, May 2nd, to maintain the road from Route 52 to launch. Where: Meet at the launch gate off of Route 52Bring: Gloves, shovel and a garden (steel) rake We’re going to concentrate on the deepest holes along the roadway. We will be shoveling gravel into a trailer to transfer to holes. Easy day; with enough help we should be done within two hours with plenty of time to fly afterwards.
The work party will meet 11 AM at Mountain Wings. The main objective is to stain the ramp on Greg's launch. Three people are needed to help move a generator from Tim's truck so it can be used in the staining process. Additional hands can help to clear vegetation. If six or more people come to the work party, Rick will take some people to do some quick road maintenance work on the road to Tony's launch.
We will have an in-person meeting at the Country Club Grill in Ellenville.
Our next planned work party will be starting at 8 AM, meeting at the gate at launch. A lot of work is planned, but if we have many hands and good weather, perhaps we can fly later. The following is planned: Clearing vegetation and debris from the road launch so we can use it this winter seasonClearing vegetation from the west launchRepairing diverters on the road to launchUsing two truck loads of material to repair storm damage on the road to launch Volunteers should bring any of the following tools if they have them: Work glovesRakesShovelsLoppers and other tools for cutting vegetationChainsaws There may be a group lunch (pizza or similar), but be sure to bring snacks and water to keep yourself hydrated.
