This Saturday, 6-15-24, we are slated to hike the Overlook Mountain Trail in search of the old or existing HG/PG launch. From conversations with local pilots we believe we have the location pinned on Google Earth. The address of the trailhead is: 335 Meads Mountain RoadWoodstock, NY 12498 The long range weather looks good for Saturday with the high temp only getting into low 80’s right now. The goal is to leave the parking area at 9:00 am. It’s a 2.5 mile hike to the summit. 🎉 Labor Day Weekend and the Brace 50th Anniversary Party 🎉 The club at Mount Brace is planning planning for Saturday August 31 as the party day with Sunday Sept 1 as the rain day. We’ll confirm when we get a read on the weather. Hopefully the weather will work for some flying. Even if there’s no flying it would be cute to get a group together, drag a few bottles of sparkling cider up to launch, and toast the mountain! Specific meeting times for going up to launch will be coordinated later. Families, friends, and guests are all welcomed. Please share this invite with your community. Anyone who is a current USHPA member with an appropriate rating and a signed waiver would be welcome to fly. Membership dues will be waived. There will be a BBQ dinner starting around 6:30pm.
