HVFF Meeting Minutes – May 2026

HVFF Meeting Minutes – May 2026

The meeting started shortly after 8 pm on May 28 with 16 members eventually joining via Zoom.

Next Meeting – will aim for an in-person meeting, perhaps at Third & Company where the Christmas Party was held.

Official Club Status – we were granted an extension on filing taxes due to our non-profit status.  Filing as a USHPA club is waiting for the club waiver and bylaws to be finalized.  Next meeting will include a member vote on the bylaws, which will be sent out electronically for everyone to review.

Website Updates

  • Many unused items have been trimmed or disabled, and the menu bar rearranged, and some blank pages (such as merchandise) have been added as future placeholders.
  • There is no longer a website login: all is public access.  The online membership signup is not live yet.
  • Meeting minutes will be pushed out using the mailing list, and there is a sign-up page for the mailing list.
  • Once the waiver is finalized it will be posted using Docusign.

Hosner Mountain – the family is offering rights to land in a farm which should be open for perpetuity.   The only thing holding up opening launch is the request to put in a trail link to the Appalachian Trail, which is felt necessary because the landowners leading to launch will not be there forever.

Fence Posts along LZ – there is a request to pull down the fence posts along Hang Glider Road.  The only hurdle is the landowners are worried about locals driving ATVs etc. across their land.

PG Update – Barry Morse took PG lessons at Ed Levin County Park in Silicon Valley, and reports he was flying by the second day.  The launches with 50, 300 and 1700 foot elevation.  Though inland it gets consistency due to sea breeze, worth checking out.
