HVFF Club Meeting – February 29, 2020

HVFF Club Meeting – February 29, 2020

Meeting started around 6:20,  with 9 members attending

• A Big Welcome to Johm McGlade:  PG2 trained in Montana.  He’s Looking forward to flying here.   But Forrest was not in attendance.  Puppy’s getting old.

Treasurer report: still $1094, same as last meeting.  Hey, it’s winter, nothing new going on..  All bills paid.

Next Meeting: 5/30 is the May meeting due to avoid Memorial Day.

Club Status: Ready to file for HVFF.  After legal consultation some changes are due on website to make it clearly nonprofit.  We can use membership donations (not dues) but can not have any clearly “paid for” benefits – should be general benefits.  We are filing as an educational non-profit which lets the club focus on flying supported activities.  It is vital to keep on educator on board (Keep buying Greg drinks, folks!).

Website: Use Amazon smile for nonprofit merchandise.

Wind talker may be accessible only to club members.  We CAN charge for it.  Looking into a website widget with log-in accounts that can expire with membership.

Education: All educational content must be public under this filing.  Parachute clinics etc must be free to all regardless of membership.

Insurance: We will want to first get Greg’s hill insured, and work with USHPA to get the HVFF part of USHPA.

Merging clubs: NASA has stopped paying insurance, it’s a “shotgun wedding”.  Leftover NASA money can go to site improvements.
